Don’t Forget Cashback Though…
8,000 IHG points are worth approximately $40.
However, you can usually earn cashback of 7% or more (currently 9%) when using a cashback website such as Topcashback. By using IHG’s App to book your hotel stays, you will be unable to use a cashback website.
Some simple mathematics suggests that you should only use the App for for 2 inexpensive stays costing less than $550. For one-night stays, using the App twice – for the bonus points – should make sense. But you will probably want to stick with your main cashback website for any longer, more expensive IHG stays…
