IHG One Rewards has launched a potentially lucrative promotion for summer 2022. The promo will run from May 18 – August 31, 2022.
The promotion offers:
- No bonus on your first night
- 2x base points on your 2nd to 5th nights
- 3x base points on your 6th to 14th nights
- 4x base points on your 15th and additional nights

Is it Worthwhile?
Although it is very annoying to not receive any bonus on your first night, somebody who stays over 15 nights with IHG this summer will do very nicely.
IHG One Rewards members earn 10 points per US dollar spent. With IHG points worth roughly 0.5 cents each, that is a 5% rebate. As a result, this promotion could offer you:
- a 10% rebate on your 2nd to 5th nights
- a 15% rebate on your 6th to 14th nights
- a 20% rebate on your 15th and additional nights
It is quite likely that you also have some kind of elite status with IHG. Although this doesn’t apply to the promotion, you would also earn:
- 20% bonus for Silver Elite – i.e. 2 more points per US dollar
- 40% bonus for Gold Elite – i.e. 4 more points per US dollar
- 60% bonus for Platinum Elite – i.e. 6 more points per US dollar
- 100% bonus for Diamond Elite – i.e. 10 more points per US dollar
If you have an IHG co-branded credit card, you can earn an additional 5-10 points per $ on hotel stays. And finally… you can usually find IHG hotels via the major cashback websites, adding even more “rebate” to your calculations…
