JetBlue has announced another one of its flash sales, although this one lasts a bit longer than usual. The “Helping Of TrueBlue Points” promotion is easy enough. Just book an award trip during the promo period and the airline will refund 15% of the points you used to purchase the ticket.

The terms and conditions on this one are minimal. In particular, two things stood out to me.

First, this flash sale is good for tickets purchased between now and November 14. Traditionally, JetBlue flash sales are only good for 48 hours. You have a few extra days to choose your destination this time.

Second, and possibly more interesting, is that there are no blackout dates. Normally, they will at least block out the holiday periods when offering a sale. But award prices with JetBlue are based on the underlying value of the ticket, with each point valued at about 1.5 cents. So, for the purposes of the rebate, they can simply price the tickets higher during stronger demand periods. The award pricing will take care of itself.

You must register for the promotion and previously booked flights don’t count. Book anytime through November 14 for flights between November 10 and January 14.
