Summary

This promotion from Southwest Airlines is similar to those highlighted in this article, which contains almost identical promotions for the shopping portals of American Airlines, United Airlines and Alaska Airlines; but it was a straggler, as it actually started a few days later than the other offers.

There are plenty of merchants available at the official shopping portal of Southwest Airlines where you can conduct shopping which you might already be doing for the next few weeks — whether it is for a home improvement project or purchasing a new portable electronic device — so if you intend to spend a minimum of $150.00 anyway, you may as well earn bonus award Rapid Rewards points in the process.

You may want to consider shopping at the official shopping portal of Southwest Airlines if you are interested in extending the expiration dates of your Rapid Rewards points — or if you simply want to top off your account in order to have enough Rapid Rewards points for award travel.

Keep in mind that the crediting of Rapid Rewards points are usually for the time of purchase and not the time of when they are actually posted to your frequent flier loyalty program account — be forewarned that you may not see the Rapid Rewards points you have earned posted to your account for weeks after the date of completion of the transaction — which is good to know in case you need to extend the expiration date of the Rapid Rewards points already in your account.
