Four new security questions have been added to your Starwood Preferred Guest profile; and you are encouraged to take a few seconds of your time to answer all of them by Saturday, October 31, 2015 in order to earn a bonus of 150 free Starpoints.

The questions — along with the new ability to register your devices and browsers — will help in securely recognizing and identifying members of Starwood Preferred Guest when contacting representatives of the frequent guest loyalty program.

How to Earn Your 150 Bonus Starpoints

Once you are logged in to your account, you will see the area where the four security questions are to be answered.

Click on one of the four pop-up lists — Question 1, Question 2, Question 3 or Question 4 — to see the list of security questions to answer.

Each answer must be unique, so you cannot use the same answer for multiple questions. You can use special characters and spaces; so if you wanted to add punctuation to differentiate each answer, you may do that.

Click on the Save Changes button to complete the process.

Within minutes, you should then receive an e-mail message that your Starwood Preferred Guest account has been updated — giving you the indication that you have successfully completed the process.

Terms and Conditions

This promotion may be combined with other promotions where you may earn Starpoints in market during the same time; however, earnings are exclusive of each other.

This bonus offer can only be earned once and is only available to existing members of Starwood Preferred Guest. This promotion is not transferable. Bonus Starpoints will be credited to your account within 2–4 weeks of the end of the promotion.

Summary

In this day and age, it is difficult enough to remember different passwords to a variety of Internet web sites at which you are required to log in — let alone remember the answers to security questions should things go awry.

Although the questions might seem a little vague, be sure that you choose at least one answer which you are absolutely certain you will be able to remember and verify exactly when necessary…

…and, of course, ideally you will remember the exact answers to all four security questions.

If you are uncertain as to whether or not you will be able to exactly remember the answers to the four security questions, you may want to record those answers and store them in at least one secure location — preferable one where you will also remember the password, if one is required.
