British Airways' New Gold Guest List Qualification

British Airways' New Gold Guest List Qualification

British Airways recently announced changes to the requirements for Gold Guest List qualification criteria. Beginning Jan. 1, 2015, British Airways Executive Club members will no longer be able to qualify for Gold Guest List by reaching 3,000 Tier points in two consecutive years. Previously members could achieve Gold Guest List by either reaching 5,000 Tier points during one Tier Point collection year or by reaching 3,000 Tier points in two years. Now, only the one-year option is offered at 5,000 Tier points.

There is no change to the renewal criteria for existing Gold Guest List members, so you can continue to renew by reaching 3,000 Tier points during your Tier point collection year. British Airways will continue to award Gold Guest List to any Gold Member who reaches 3,000 Tier points before April 8, 2015.

British Airways has three elite status levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold, but offers Gold Guest List for members earning Tier Points beyond Gold elite status. For more information on the changes and a list of FAQs, visit http://insideflyerus.wpengine.com/link/?11898

Bottom line: It is important to note that there is no change to the qualification criteria for the Concorde Room Card, so members can still achieve this benefit by reaching 5,000 tier points in a year.
