Hilton Honors has been partnered with the ride-sharing App Lyft for awhile now. Honors members can earn and redeem points through Lyft rides.
In order to support Lyft’s Vaccine Access campaign, Hilton is offering 2,000 bonus points to any member that contributes at least $5 to this fund. You have until May 31st, 2021 to donate.
All you need to do is:
- Link your Hilton Honors and Lyft accounts at www.hiltonhonorslyft.com.
- Donate $5 via this website – www.lyft.com/vaccine-access
Hilton will also match member contributions up to a total of $50,000.
Naturally, I didn’t write this blog post purely due to goodwill. But instead I wanted to highlight the travel hacking angle. “Spend” $5 and receive 2,000 points. That works out to 0.25 cents per point – a great deal… (if only it could be scaled to a much larger size)
The partnership is a nice little bonus for those who use Lyft regularly. Honors members earn 3 points per dollar spent on the base fare, excluding taxes, fees, tolls and tips. (you earn 2 points per dollar on shared rides)
For what it’s worth, Delta Skymiles is also offering 250 miles for that same $5 donation. I don’t believe you can stack the two bonuses, nor does it make any sense to “spend” $5 to receive 250 miles.

Hi Craig
Does this work for a UK based Hilton member?
Or is the only chance of it working via a vpn?
Cheers
Guy

I haven’t tried to be honest. But if you can download the Lyft App and link your Hilton account (neither of which requires US residence) then I don’t see why you wouldn’t get the points if you made the donation.
