SWISS is rolling out the largest cabin overhaul in its history with the launch of SWISS Senses. Starting in 2025, the airline’s new Airbus A350s will showcase redesigned cabins across all classes – from refreshed Economy to a brand-new First Class product.
The big talking point, however, is the introduction of the SWISS First Grand Suite – basically a marketing-driven concept positioned as the most exclusive first-class experience in the airline’s history.

All-new cabins across the board
With SWISS Senses, the airline is modernizing its entire onboard product. Highlights include:
- Economy Class: updated materials and lighting, with a fresher look and feel.
- Premium Economy: a redesigned seat with more comfort for long-haul flights.
- Business Class: suites with sliding doors and improved privacy.
- First Class: a completely new design aligned with Lufthansa’s new First, featuring 4K OLED screens, lockable doors, and a minimalist yet elegant design.
The overall focus is on an uncluttered, modern design, and new materials that aim to put SWISS back among the top premium carriers.
Introducing the SWISS First Grand Suite
The airline is also launching the First Grand Suite, which will only be bookable via the SWISS First hotline. This “loft above the clouds” combines two adjacent First Class suites into a single larger space by moving partition walls. Up to three passengers can travel together in the space, which is nearly twice as large as a standard First Suite.
It’s essentially a rebranding of the “Suite Plus” option already seen at Lufthansa, but with added exclusivity through limited availability and premium positioning. SWISS hopes to market it as a unique, ultra-exclusive experience.
Initial rumors suggest that the Grand Suite could cost up to three times the fare of regular First Class. That puts it in the same ballpark as private jet pricing – but without even offering the same structural innovations seen at carriers like Singapore Airlines or Etihad, which offer true double suites.
In other words, this looks more like a bold marketing offensive than a genuine game-changer in First Class design. While the new First Suite itself is a major step forward for SWISS, the Grand Suite feels like a luxury upsell with limited practical improvements.
Bottom line
SWISS is finally refreshing its cabins with the launch of SWISS Senses, debuting on A350s from 2025. The updated Economy, Premium Economy, Business, and especially the new First Class will bring the airline back in line with top-tier competitors.
The First Grand Suite, however, is less about innovation and more about perceived exclusivity – a marketing move that might appeal to a tiny handful of high-spending travelers, but won’t redefine the premium travel experience.
For most frequent flyers, the real win here is the long-overdue modernization of SWISS’s entire cabin portfolio.
