In the latest installment of our monthly rundown of hotel chain promotions, these are the main chain-wide promos available in August 2021.
Hilton Honors
Hilton’s current promotion runs until September 6th – click here to register – where you can earn:
- Double points for stays of one or two nights
- Triple points for stays of three nights or longer
Worth It?
If you have long, expensive stays planned for the summer, then the triple points element will be quite lucrative. Fortunately, you will still receive double points on those one-night stays you might be using to chase elite status via “stays”.
IHG Rewards
IHG’s promotion will run until August 16th. Registration is required (click here). Members can earn:
- Stay 1 – NO bonus
- Stay 2 – Double points (i.e. an additional 10 points per US dollar spent)
- Stay 3+ – Triple points (i.e. an additional 20 points per US dollar spent)
Worth It?
If you have an expensive stay planned for the summer, then the triple points element could be quite lucrative. However, you will need to squeeze in two cheaper stays beforehand, to avoid that “no bonus” stay applying to your big spend…
World of Hyatt

Members can earn triple points for stays of 2+ nights.
Worth It?
If you have an expensive stay planned for the summer, then the triple points element will be quite lucrative. You could receive a rebate of 30-40%, depending on your elite status and whether you have the co-branded credit card.
Marriott Bonvoy
Marriott has yet to announce a chain-wide promotion that will be running in August 2021.
Radisson Rewards Americas
The first promotion from the stand-alone Radisson Rewards Americas will run until September 12th, 2021. Registration is required. You can do that by clicking here.
Members can earn double points (i.e. an extra 20 points per US dollar) at properties in North, South and Central America, including the United States, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
Worth It?
Radisson needs to improve its promotions if it wants to avoid losing its members to the competition. This promotion certainly isn’t likely to attract much additional business. But if you already have a Radisson stay planned, earning double points is a nice little bonus.
The Bottom Line
Apart from Marriott somewhat inexplicably deciding that it doesn’t need to run promotions, all of the major chains have something to offer their members for at least part of August 2021…
