How Can I Get More Krisflyer Miles?

Krisflyer partners with every major transferrable credit card currency – American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, Citi Thank You points and even Capital One miles (although not at the best ratio) – as well as Marriott Bonvoy, so chances are good that you’ll be able to top up a Krisflyer account whenever you find an attractive award.

You can also, of course, choose to earn Krisflyer miles when flying on Star Alliance flights.

What are the Best Uses of Krisflyer Miles?

Krisflyer isn’t known for having a ton of sweetspots, especially to/from/within North America. But as I mentioned up top, you are going to need Krisflyer miles to fly in a premium cabin on Singapore Airlines – this is something on many travel hackers’ bucket lists.  And besides flying to Singapore, you can fly on these fifth freedom routes:

  • New York to Frankfurt, Germany in an Airbus A380
  • Houston to Manchester, UK in an Airbus A350
  • San Francisco to Hong Kong in a Boeing 777
  • Los Angeles to Tokyo, Japan in a Boeing 777

The Bottom Line

Perhaps you will sign up and forget all about your 500 free miles. Or perhaps it will be the impetus you require to take a peek at Krisflyer to see whether it might work for you…
