Developing story :
Prior to 8am local time, explosions were reported at Brussels Zaventem airport. Reports and images are starting to surface via social media. One unconfirmed report mentions that one explosion was close to the American Airlines check-in area. RTBF, the Belgian broadcaster has quoted a witness that claims people were injured in the departure area.
Belgian media is reporting injuries, and that train service to the airport has been suspended.
At this time, nothing has been verified with regard to the cause of the explosions. Media is also reporting that the airport has been closed to flights, and is being evacuated.

update 09:30 CET (approximately) There was an explosion also reported in the Maelbeek metro station. This metro station is reported to be close to EU institutions/offices. The entire metro system is currently closed.
update 10:50 CET Belgian prosecutor confirms airport explosion was a suicide attack. Service cancelled by Eurostar in and out of Brussels Midi terminal.
