Arik Air Launches FFP

Nigeria’s Arik Air has launched the Arik Affinity Wings frequent flyer program. New members get 1,000 bonus miles for signing up. Members earn Affinity Miles that are valid for 36 months from the date earned and that can be spent for awards. Affinity Miles are earned based on zones and the fare paid. Members also earn Affinity Points when flying Arik Air–the currency to determine your membership level.

There are four membership levels depending on the Affinity Points you’ve earned: Pearl (0 Affinity Points), Bronze (100 Affinity Points), Silver (200 Affinity Points) and Gold (400 Affinity Points). The elite status program has benefits such as personalized membership cards, complimentary upgrades, fee waivers, bonus miles, extra baggage allowance and the ability to redeem miles for lounge access, among other benefits and depending on your membership level.

Flight awards and flight upgrade awards are offered. Currently, there are no partners for the program such as hotels and car rentals, but the program has plans in place to introduce some. The program also does not have any airline partners. To join Arik Affinity Wings and to learn more, visit http://insideflyerus.wpengine.com/link/?11786

Bottom line: The Arik Affinity Wings is a well thought out program with four tier levels, an award chart (although the award chart is currently not displaying on the website), the ability to claim missing miles online and members can redeem award flights in someone else’s name and can transfer miles between accounts.
