Qantas Frequent Flyer Options

There is speculation that Qantas will use the value of its frequent flyer program to inject some cash into the airline. Qantas Loyalty, which manages the frequent flyer program, has been valued at $2.5 billion, with some estimates ranging from $1.5 billion to $3 billion – bigger numbers than the value of the airline. Other options mentioned to help the cash-strapped airline are the partial sale of Jetstar, the sale of airport terminal assets or the bulk sale of frequent flyer points.

Qantas expects the program’s 10 millionth member to join in the coming months. Another new development for Qantas Frequent Flyers is the ability to earn 100 points for each person dining when a member books a table at over 2,500 restaurants at http://restaurants.qantas.com.au. Members earn 100 bonus points per diner to supplement what they already earn when using a Qantas co-branded credit card.
