Rather than reducing the requirements for reaching elite status, the major hotel chains – apart from Hilton – are taking a wait and see approach. I suspect that part of the strategy is to run “double elite credit” promotions, which might help drive more 2022 hotel stays (at least during the period of the promo) than a simple reduction in the number of nights needed.
The first such promotion is here… offered by Radisson Rewards Americas. Between January 13 and April 30, 2022, Radisson Rewards Americas is doubling both nights and stays! This applies to all elite qualifying stays, including direct cash bookings, Points + Cash and points stays.
There is no need to register. But you can read about this promotion by clicking here.
How to earn Radisson Rewards Americas Elite Status
- Platinum – 60 Eligible Nights or 30 Eligible Stays
- Gold – 30 Eligible Nights or 20 Eligible Stays
- Silver – 9 Eligible Nights or 6 Eligible Stays
Due to this promotion generously doubling stay credits, you could reach Platinum status with 15 one-night stays before April 30, 2022…
Platinum status is the minimum you would require to receive free breakfast, a meaningful upgrade, etc. However, due to the split into Radisson Rewards Americas and Radisson Rewards (i.e. rest of the world) your benefits would only be useful at hotels in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean. (when the nicer Radisson hotels are located in Europe and Asia…)
Bottom line
If the Radisson Rewards split hasn’t pushed you away from the brand entirely, then this promotion is a great way to upgrade to Platinum status quite quickly…
