Okay, this promotion is kind of cool, and I almost missed it. Hidden in an email about transferring points between SPG and Marriott is the Courtyard Super Bowl Sleepover Contest announcement. The promotion is unique: The winner has the opportunity to sleep at the Super Bowl LI stadium. Don’t worry, they’ll provide a room.

This contest, which Marriott also ran last year (See video above.) offers the ultimate fan opportunity: You can sleep at the Super Bowl stadium in a custom-arranged room. The Grand Prize winner will receive airfare for themself and a guest to Texas. Once you get there, you’ll have three nights at a Courtyard Hotel, transportation, admission to Super Bowl LI and $5,500 in cash. Given that they value the prize at $20,000 and you are responsible for taxes, the cash will come in handy. Bad news, though: I don’t think you get Marriott Rewards points for the stay.
Terms And Conditions
They don’t make it easy for you to enter or win, that’s for sure. First, you have to find your “most passionate NFL fan photo.” I’m not sure how they define “passionate,” but that judgment comes later. Once you find your photo, either tweet it or post it on Instagram with the hashtag #CourtyardSuperBowlContest.
And now’s where it gets complicated. First, Courtyard will judge you. Well, it will judge your photo, anyway, based on Originality (50%), Quality (30%) and Relevance (20%). Ten semi-finalists will then have a phone interview, with three advancing to the “Finalist” stage. A final panel of judges will pick the winner. Didn’t win the whole thing? You’ll still get a parting gift. The semi-finalists will each get a $100 Courtyard gift card and a $100 NFLShop.com gift card.
