Air New Zealand Airpoints members will soon see new functionality added to their membership card. On one side, it’s an Air New Zealand Airpoints card, enhanced with ePass technology that will enable the member to breeze through domestic check-in. On the other side of the card, members can opt for a “OneSmart” prepaid debit MasterCard featuring PayPass contactless technology that allows cardholders to simply tap the card to a reader to make purchases of NZ$80 or less. Members will earn Airpoints dollars when using the card and can use the card overseas for up to four currencies (choose from eight currencies) without an international ATM withdrawal fee. You can also top-up your Airpoints account with the card when you’re ready to redeem for an award but don’t have all of the points you need. There are fees involved for using the OneSmart card.
