London Heathrow’s second largest airline, bmi, is focusing on the business traveler by introducing a new elite tier to the existing status levels of diamond club and giving free in-flight food and drinks and priority seating towards the front of the aircraft for elite-level diamond club members. The new elite-level tier, blue plus, is the first tier above general blue membership and is reached when 3,000 status miles are flown within 12 months. The holders of blue plus, silver and gold cards will receive the complimentary in-flight meal as well as all other diamond club benefits.
