As of April 1, Swiss TravelClub has become Miles & More, the new SWISS Air Lines frequent flyer program. The new program will offer SWISS customers a wider range of airlines and more partner companies with whom to collect and redeem miles.
Miles & More is the frequent flyer program of Lufthansa, Adria Airways, Air Dolomiti, Air One, Austrian Airlines, Croatia Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines and Luxair. It is Europe’s biggest frequent flyer program with more than 11 million members.
SWISS TravelClub members transferring to Miles & More have had their remaining Swiss TravelClub miles converted one-for-one into Miles & More award miles; and existing Swiss TravelClub Silver and Gold elite-level members are also recognized as elite in the Miles & More program.
The move marks another step in the growing collaboration between SWISS and Lufthansa. The collaboration started in July of last year when the members of both programs were offered mileage, earning and redemption opportunities on both carriers along with reciprocal privileges for any program status held. SWISS says program members will benefit from the additional advantages offered by the 16 Star Alliance partner airlines with their flights to over 790 destinations in 138 countries as well as access to more than 620 lounges all over the world.
SWISS will represent Miles & More in Switzerland, and will be responsible for assisting and advising all Swiss-based members and partners.
TravelClub members were first notified about the new program in October 2005, when they were invited to join Miles & More and have their TravelClub mileage balance transferred to their new Miles & More account. The majority of TravelClub members opted to do so, according to SWISS.
New Miles & More cards with new membership numbers were sent to members in Switzerland and around the world in March. For those TravelClub members who have not yet registered for Miles & More, a special registration form has been provided on the new http://www.miles-and-more.ch website that will still allow them to do so — and transfer their Swiss TravelClub mileage balance — after April 1.
