IHG One Rewards has announced details of its latest promotion. “Pick your Payoff” will run from October 13 – December 31, 2022.
You will need to concentrate before registering! This is because you must choose between two different promotions – and you will not be able to change your mind later.
Your options are:
- Earn 2,000 bonus points after every second night (1,000 points per night)
- Earn 10,000 bonus points after every fourth night (2,500 points per night)
Which Should I Choose?
Well… one is clearly more lucrative than the other.
Assuming that you will definitely stay at least four nights in an IHG hotel during the promotional period, you should choose to earn 10,000 points every 4 nights.
Even if you end up with an awkward number of nights – 7, 11, 15, etc. – you will still earn more bonus points overall.
However, if you have very little intention of staying at an IHG hotel this fall, you probably should choose the 2,000 bonus point promotion, just in case a short stay comes up…
Bottom Line
I suppose it is nice that IHG is offering a little something extra to infrequent guests. But almost everybody should choose the option offering 10,000 bonus points after every 4th night.
