Fewer SkyMiles on Award Tickets to Europe in Main Cabin or Delta One — But…
Only select flights are eligible; and you must pay any taxes and fees levied on the award ticket, which starts at a cost of 49,000 SkyMiles round trip for economy class and 102,000 SkyMiles for business class on airplanes operated by Delta Air Lines and Delta Connection carriers — and tickets must be purchased at a minimum of 28 days in advance. You may stay at your destination for a minimum of seven days; and the maximum time of your trip cannot exceed three months.

Charges and Fees
For both the economy class and business class cabins, baggage allowances are subject to size and weight limits.
For travel between the United States and Europe in the economy class cabin, the fee is $100.00 United States dollars or 85 euros for a second checked bag.
Award travel is subject to government-imposed taxes and fees, which are your responsibility and must be paid at the time the ticket is booked. Taxes and fees depend upon the itinerary; and are at least $52.80 round trip and are at a maximum $316.10 round trip.
Fees apply for any changes. Taxes and fees will apply. Voluntary changes to your award tickets after the promotion has ended may result in an increase in mileage costs.
Entertainment prices for Delta Studio may be changed at any time.

Terms and Conditions
Promotional redemption amounts are subject to availability; and seats available at promotional award prices are limited. Pay with Miles tickets are not eligible for promotional redemption amounts. Neither tickets nor this offer can be transferred.
SkyMiles membership must be active at the time of booking and member must be logged into delta.com to receive promotional pricing. Valid only for Awards redeemed directly from eligible customer’s account.
Tickets are not refundable except in accordance with the cancellation policy of Delta Air Lines. Fees may apply for downgrades, reissues and itinerary changes. Award ticket changes must be implemented at least 72 hours prior to the departure time of the flight being changed. Award tickets booked within 72 hours of departure cannot be refunded, redeposited, or reissued unless prohibited by local law or within the risk-free cancellation period. No changes will be permitted to the originating flight of award tickets booked within 72 hours; however, changes to the return are permitted if the return flight is not within 72 hours and the change is made at least 72 hours prior to flight departure.

Summary
If you are interested in award sales offered by Delta Air Lines, knowing that there will be SkyMiles award sales other than the new monthly flash sale recently announced by Delta Air Lines can potentially be rewarding in terms of savings.
Award charts have not been published by Delta Air Lines since February of 2015, when they disappeared from public view; so the prices can only be compared to the most recent award chart available.
According to this chart — and assuming that the discount is based on what was known as a Level 1 award — the savings for a round trip economy class ticket between the United States and Europe is at least 11,000 SkyMiles…
…and according to this chart — again, assuming that the discount is based on what was known as a Level 1 award — the savings for a round trip business class ticket between the United States and Europe is at least 23,000 SkyMiles.
If you are able to procure those tickets to the destination in Europe where you want to go, the savings may well be worth the trip.
