Four Seasons Resort Lanai Reopening February 1, 2016

The Four Seasons Resort Lanai at Manele Bay consistently got stellar reviews from travelers. The tropical retreat has quietly been undergoing renovations since early 2014 though, with local news reporting a cost of $75 Million. The Four Seasons Resort Lanai, as it is now called, is currently scheduled to reopen February 1, 2016 and is now taking reservations.

The renovations began shortly after Oracle billionaire Larry Ellison purchased 98% of the Hawaiian island of Lanai. Why renovate a property that is already considered a five star luxury property? Mr. Ellison plans on turning the island into a 21st century style 100% green community and the updated resort is meant to offer luxury for guests that expect nothing but the best.

The updated guest room technology includes 75-inch LED TVs, new lighting and temperature controls along with wearable key wristbands. A mobile app on in-room iPads will reportedly give guests free access to over 3,000 newspapers.

Tiki torches will light the resort pathways, and the pool area has been completely redone to offer an adults-only pool where the poolside restaurant used to be. Grottos, waterfalls and an extra hot tub have been added. With an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course and fragrant native Hawaiian botanical gardens, stunning views, teak walls and hand-woven rugs, the resort is poised to give guests an updated luxury experience.

There’s even a classy airport lounge.

If you want to visit this over-the-top Hawaiian paradise with just 217 redesigned guest rooms and 51 suites, take note that the prices are set to skyrocket. Before renovations, the lowest level gardenview room was offered at $550 a night. After renovations, the same room will go for $960!

To kick off their re-opening, the Four Seasons Resort Lanai is giving $150 resort credit per day if staying four nights or longer. If n a suite, the resort credit increases up to $500 per day. That’s a resort credit up to $2000 for a four night stay, if staying in a suite.

Here’s a link to their current stay offers.

$400 increase in the room rate might be tough to swallow. Will be looking forward to reviews from people who have stayed there before the renovation to see if the price increase is justified.
