Alitalia MilleMiglia members can now rollover any elite qualifying miles that exceed the number of miles required to earn elite status within a membership year. For example, if you earn 30,000 qualifying miles in 2014, you will be welcomed as an Ulisse Club member at 20,000 miles for the whole of 2015 and then can transfer 10,000 qualifying miles to your 2015 account. In other news, MilleMiglia has partnered with PayBack, one of Europe’s largest coalition loyalty programs, so that members now have many more options for earning and burning their points. With one membership card, you can earn miles through your Alitalia travel and MilleMiglia partners and earn PayBack points for your purchases at Esso service stations, Carrefour stores and other partners. Members can use PayBack points to get discounts on Alitalia flights or with other partners, or redeem them for an award from the PayBack catalog.

You also can convert PayBack points into MilleMiglia miles or miles into points. Three Alitalia miles equal one PayBack point and two PayBack points equal one Alitalia mile. You’ll earn double miles if you request the MilleMiglia PayBack card by March 31, 2014 and convert your PayBack points into miles by April 30, 2014.

The airline also has created a separate company called Alitalia Loyalty and will work with the new company to promote the MilleMiglia program.
