Air Mauritius has been working hard on a new frequent flyer program. Kestrelflyer members will now earn miles instead of points and other changes have been made to the existing program. Some benefits, such as worldwide lounge access for Gold members have been retained, and other benefits have been added such as the time period to qualify for elite status has been extended from 24 months to 36 months; there is an increased baggage allowance for elites and elite members can now earn 50 percent of miles flown in coach as tier bonus miles. The Family Scheme program has been extended to include parents of the member and you can accumulate 50 percent of their miles into your account and you can share your awards with up to five family members.

Updates have also been made to the program’s Web site including an online profile and award travel booking. Members can look forward to new partners in the near future including hotels, car rental companies, financial institutions and telecommunications.
