InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Credit Card Center in partnership with Citibank have teamed up to launch a Priority Club Rewards co-branded Visa card for consumers in China. The Classic and Gold Priority Club Rewards dual currency Visa cards will earn Priority Club points on everyday spending, double points for spending in IHG hotels worldwide and special dining discounts at IHG’s mainland China hotels. The Classic card offers a 1,000-point enrollment bonus and one point per 16 RMB credit card spend and one point per eight RMB at IHG hotels worldwide. The Gold card offers a 5,000-point enrollment bonus and one point per eight RMB on all credit card spend and two points per eight RMB at all IHG hotels worldwide. The annual fee for the Classic card is 180 RMB, and the annual fee for the Gold card is 500 RMB. The points earned can be redeemed for hotel stays, flights and retail merchandise. IHG is the first global hotel company to launch a co-branded credit card in China.
“The launch of the Priority Club Rewards Visa in China is just one of the many ways we’re making it easier for members to earn rewards even faster, not only for hotel stays, but also on their everyday purchases,” said Steve Sickel, senior vice president, Multibrand and Relationship Marketing, IHG. “We’re constantly looking for ways to bring greater value to our Priority Club members, no matter where in the world they are traveling.”
