The Commonwealth Bank has launched a new travel service as an enhancement to its existing Commonwealth Awards program.

“Travel Plus” lets card holders pay via Awards points, credit card, or a combination of the two.

Travel Plus allows members to book any combination of travel related services including flights, accommodations, car rentals, cruises, tours, and travel insurance. Members of the general public who receive a Travel Plus gift card are also able to use the service.

A bonus-point structure has been added to the cards, with the Standard Card earning two points for every dollar spent; the Gold Card, three points for every dollar spent; and the Platinum Card, 4 points for every dollar spent.

Travel Plus also offers gift cards in amounts starting from $30 up to $1,200.
