Sharing miles between different accounts is often forbidden, unless of course you are a member of ANA’s Mileage Club. Mileage Club members can sign up for the Family Account Service (FA), which allows family members to collectively combine miles earned by each person enrolled in a given Family Account. Normally the registration fee for Family Account Service is 1,000 miles, but this fee has been waived, and registration is free until March 31, 2006. Up to eight family members (one primary member and up to seven family members) can be enrolled on one FA account. There is no age restriction for registration, and family members within two degrees of the family relationship from the primary member can be enrolled in the program. Miles earned by family members enrolled in FA may be combined and redeemed for awards such as ANA flights, partner flights and ANA International Upgrade Awards. Family account Service is only available to Mileage Club members who reside outside Japan, namely those members who live in the U.S., Europe or Korea. Rules and restrictions apply.
