Lufthansa and Shanghai Airlines have signed an agreement allowing an expansion of the German carrier’s codesharing into China. The agreement is the first of its kind between an international carrier and a Chinese domestic airline.

Beginning in May, Miles & More members can earn miles on Shanghai flights from Shanghai to Beijing, Shenzhen and Qingdao. Further expansion is slated for later in the year.
