Amtrak Guest Rewards – February, 25 2004

While Amtrak struggles to keep its head above water, one thing is evident: Amtrak understands the importance of its loyal customers. Year in and year out, Guest Rewards members are offered some of the best extras of any frequent travel program.

Amtrak’s latest offer is a free award ticket after only two roundtrips between qualifying city pairs, including Boston and New York, New York and Washington or Boston and Philadelphia. To qualify for this offer, members must travel between these city pairs on Acela Express or Metroliner before April 15.

And if that’s not reason enough to pay more attention to this program, Guest Rewards members are also privy to generous bonuses when shopping online at the Amtrak Shopping Mall. Currently, members will earn an additional 100 bonus points for every $100 spent at Amtrak’s online mall.

Clearly there is no shortage of earning potential here. But what’s available for members who are looking to burn some points?

Through April 30, members can redeem for cross-country travel for 20-percent fewer points. For example, during the promotional period it will cost only 6,000 points to travel in Coach between Chicago and New York or Boston on the Lake Shore Limited; and a Standard Sleeper award on the Empire Builder route between Chicago and Seattle is only 18,000 points.

Another great (and ongoing) benefit is that Guest Rewards Select members are granted instant Silver VIP membership in the Hilton HHonors program.
