Burbank Airport Bans Mariah Carey Ads

Burbank Airport bans Mariah Carey

Bob Hope Airport is just saying no to Mariah Carey. Not the singer herself, but her racy billboard ads for her Infinity show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace reports the Los Angeles Times.

Initially it was thought that John Wayne Airport also banned the racy Mariah Carey billboard, but USA Today confirms that the airport has approved the billboards. The Carey ads will be shown at John Wayne Airport starting Monday, August 22.

The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority, however, felt the ad was too revealing and inappropriate for airport audiences.

The ad shows a naked Mariah Carey lying on her side adorned in diamond rings, diamond bracelets, and a diamond pendant necklace, with a small swath of gold lame fabric covered her breasts.

Lucy Burghdorf, an airport spokeswoman for the Bob Hope Airport, stated that while they hadn’t outright banned the ad, they asked that it be adjustments to the ad be made before it could be posted.
