Last year, Iberia Airlines announced three new routes to the United States. For the summer 2022 season, Iberia would fly between Madrid and:
- Washington, DC (Dulles)
- Dallas / Fort Worth
- San Francisco
However, no firm starting dates were announced for these routes. Now we know… June 1st.
These flights will operate on the following days:
- Washington DC – Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
- Dallas – Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays
- San Francisco – Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
As you may know, you can move your Avios between British Airways Executive Club and Iberia Plus. You will want to book these flights through IBERIA PLUS in order to pay lower surcharges…
Off-Peak pricing (one way) from Washington will be:
- 17,000 Avios – Economy
- 25,500 Avios – Premium Economy
- 34,000 Avios – Business Class
Peak date pricing (one way)
- 20,000 Avios – Economy
- 35,000 Avios – Premium Economy
- 50,000 Avios – Business Class
Off Peak pricing from San Francisco and Dallas (one way) will be:
- 21,250 Avios – Economy
- 31,750 Avios – Premium Economy
- 42,500 Avios – Business Class
Peak date pricing (one way)
- 25,000 Avios – Economy
- 43,750 Avios – Premium Economy
- 62,500 Avios – Business Class
Although booking through Iberia Plus should cost you the fewest miles, you can also book these flights through American Airlines AAdvantage and Alaska Mileage Plus. You might also prefer American or Alaska if you want to connect through Madrid to somewhere else. (Iberia Plus will charge additional Avios for any connecting flights)
Because these flights have only recently gone on sale, award availability is EXCELLENT. Iberia typically releases 2 Business Class award seats per flight. So if you hurry, you can use your miles to fly to Europe this summer in Business Class…
