JetBlue just announced another of its flash sales. This time, you’ll get 20% off the airfare portion of a JetBlue Getaways (air and hotel vacation) package. Act soon, although you won’t need to act as quickly as you normally do. Unlike most JetBlue flash sales, which are two days only, this one lasts a week.

The Details

Simple enough: Book a JetBlue Getaway package between now and September 19 and you’ll receive 20% off the airfare portion of the trip. A Getaways package is one that consists of airfare and hotel and may save you money by combining the two and letting JetBlue do the hotel shopping for you. As always, that’s a “maybe.” You should still do your own research if price is the deciding factor, but the packages take some of the work out of it.

Terms And Conditions

The fine print is always the most important part of the deal, and there are limits on this one. Among others:

• While you receive 20% off the base airfare, you do not get 20% off the taxes or the hotel costs. Sorry, the government still wants its cut and JetBlue has to pay its suppliers.
• You can’t redeem with a “Cash + TrueBlue Points” option. Credit cards only. Remember to use your JetBlue card.
• And, of course, there are the blackout dates. You need to book by September 19, and 10/6 – 10/10 are blackout dates. Sorry, no JetBlue Getaway holiday travel. It gets worse when you look at days of the week. The T&C don’t allow departures or returns on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. A Thursday through Monday trip sounds kind of nice, though. Who’d want to spend fewer than three days in Paradise, anyway.

JetBlue Getaways Bottom Line

On a scale of 1 – 10, this particular flash sale rates a “meh.” The dates aren’t great but the locations look pretty good. Just make sure that it will actually save you money.
