American Express is expanding the company’s Centurion Lounge locations. Recently the American Express Plaza Premium Lounge opened in Sydney’s T1 international terminal, which features room for 60 travelers and amenities like food from breakfast to dinner, beverages and free WiFi.
This is the first lounge in Sydney not tied into an airline and the first American Express lounge in an Australian airport. American Express Centurion Card, Platinum Card, and Centurion and Platinum business card cardmembers have unlimited access to the lounge while other select Amex cardmembers get two free lounge passes per calendar year and can pay a fee for more visits.
Another new Amex lounge opening in 2015 will be an American Express Centurion Studio lounge in Seattle–a smaller version of a Centurion Lounge.
Bottom line: These lounges are for American Express cardmembers only. Priority Pass membership, for example, does not allow access. Miami International Airport is also set to get a new Centurion lounge this year.
