Top-tier Loews YouFirst Platinum members can take advantage of an exclusive one-time offer of free membership in Global Entry, the expedited immigration program that allows registered members to pass quickly through customs when returning to the U.S. As an added benefit, Global Entry members can also access the TSA’s PreCheck expedited security check program, which allows members to pass through domestic security checkpoints in less time. Loews YouFirst members need to complete 10 stays at Loews hotels to qualify for Platinum status.
Bottom line: Loews is the first hotel group to offer complimentary Global Entry to its highest-level elite members, but it’s not the first company to refund the fee for members. American Express refunds the fee for Platinum cardholders and United MileagePlus offers a Global Entry fee rebate to Global Services, Premier 1K and Premier Platinum members. Global Entry normally costs $100 and is valid for five years. Eligible YouFirst Platinum members who received an email offering the free Global Entry membership have until Nov. 24, 2012 to take advantage of the offer.
