Continental Airlines is increasing the annual cost of membership to its Presidents Club for all members. Effective Nov. 1, 2008, the cost of an annual membership will increase by $25 for members and $50 for members and their spouse. A standard annual membership will start out at $425 (from $400) for non-elite members when the new price structure goes into effect. Elite members can purchase a membership at reduced prices, depending on elite level. The cost of a lifetime membership will increase $400 for standard OnePass members to $5,500 from $5,100. American Airlines has raised the rates for Admirals Club memberships as of Nov. 1, 2008. The prices increased between $50 and $75. For members using miles to cover the costs of membership, the mileage requirements have increased between 5,000 and 15,000 miles.
