American Airlines’ regional affiliate, American Eagle, will begin a new route between Miami International and Tallahassee, Florida twice daily on March 2, 2008. American Airlines and EL AL Israel Airlines have a new codeshare agreement in place. The airlines already have a frequent flyer program partnership. The codeshare agreement means that in addition to flying nonstop from five North American airports (New York JFK/Newark, Los Angeles, Miami and Toronto), EL AL passengers now have the option to depart from 23 additional destinations throughout North America with easier transfers to the nonstop international flights. Additionally, frequent flyers are being promised more benefits from both airlines’ frequent flyer programs …

Park Plaza hotels will now allow members of 14 more airline programs to earn 500 miles per stay at any Park Plaza hotel across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Members can choose to earn goldpoints plus points instead of airline miles if they so choose. Stays at Art’otel hotels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa can also earn 500 miles per stay, but Art’otel is not part of the goldpoints plus program. The new airline programs are SAS, KLM, Air France, Lufthansa, Continental, Qantas, US Airways, Midwest Airlines, Air Canada, Aeromexico, Icelandair, Japan Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Lan Chile and Asiana.
