American Express cardmembers will now participate in one of three Membership Rewards program levels depending on the card they carry. Those with American Express Credit Cards, including Blue from American Express, will participate in the Membership Rewards Express program. Those who carry an American Express Green or Gold Card will participate in the Membership Rewards program and Platinum Cardmembers and Centurion Cardmembers will be enrolled in the Membership Rewards First program. The levels of membership offer various benefits related to that level. Notably, members in the Membership Rewards Express program will lose the ability to transfer points to frequent flyer or guest accounts to redeem for flights or hotel stays. All cardmembers will have access to the new Express Rewards Hotel Card that allows cardmembers to redeem points for a prepaid card that can be used at participating Marriott and Radisson Hotels & Resorts properties. And all cardmembers can take advantage of American Express’ Points Advance feature that allows them to advance points against future points earned when redeeming for an award.
