Joy of Life

Joy of Life

The California-based Joie de Vivre Hospitality hotel group has enhanced its loyalty program, The Joy of Life Club, to include unique experiences in addition to the more traditional award certificates for free hotel nights or spa services. For the culinary inclined who has earned 2,500 points, one of the new redemption options is an afternoon at the farmer’s market with a renowned chef who prepares a gourmet lunch with seasonal produce. Or a hands-on chocolate-making class that includes a recipe book and baking chocolate. For those who prefer more adventurous activities, surfing lessons or a kayaking tour are also available. For 7,500 points, you can enjoy a private martini party for you and twelve friends or an early morning hot air balloon ride over Napa Valley with an after-flight brunch for you and a guest. A weekend for two at Sonoma Cutrer Vineyards that includes lodging, lunch and a private tour with the winemaker and a romantic dinner is available for 10,000 points.

The program is divided into three membership levels: Joy Seekers who have earned up to 2,499 points; Joy Enthusiasts, 2,500 to 9,999 points; and Joy Aficionados, 10,000 points and above. Joy Seekers and Enthusiasts earn one point per dollar spent at participating Joie de Vivre Hotels and two points per dollar spent at Joie de Vivre Day Spas. Joy Aficionados earn double points for hotel stays and spa services. All three membership levels receive availability-based room upgrades, a pre-arrival phone call or e-mail, complimentary internet, faxes and phone calls, and a glass of wine or spring water upon arrival. Joy Enthusiasts and Aficionados receive early check-in and late checkout, guaranteed room availability with 72 hours notice and an invitation to Joie de Vivre’s JoyFest celebration.
