Midway Airlines Booted From AAdvantage

Partners come and partners go. As of May 1, Midway Airlines is leaving the AAdvantage program and joining the frequent flyer alliance of both the Continental and Northwest programs, thus becoming their latest regional partner, similar to Alaska Airlines on the West Coast. Members of both OnePass and WorldPerks programs may begin earning miles on Midway on May 1, however, they will have to wait until June 1 to begin redeeming miles on the new partner airline. As is with Alaska and America West partners, miles flown on Midway will count toward elite status. As well, Midway will honor and offer elite benefits to OnePass and WorldPerks members who qualify for such benefits as unlimited space-available upgrades, elite mileage bonuses, priority check-in and early boarding. But understand that these upgrades are not yet implemented into the EAU system, so you may be wise to be assuming nothing and asking at check-in or reservation.
