Choice Hotels is heading North this winter and Choice Privileges members are reaping the benefits. Choice Hotels recently announced that they are integrating the Choice Privileges program with Choice Club Plus. The new integration will allow U.S. residents to earn points at Canadian properties, and Canadian residents will automatically be enrolled in the new Choice Privileges Canada program. The new program will allow Canadian members to earn points at both mid-scale Choice brand hotels in the U.S. and Choice brand hotels in Canada. Members in the U.S. and Canada will now earn 10 points per U.S. dollar at more than 3,200 Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion and MainStay Suites brand hotels in the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico. For stays in Canada, revenue will be converted from Canadian Dollars to U.S. dollars to award points.

The new program will also allow Canadian members to redeem points at Choice Privileges locations worldwide, including Preferred Hotels and Resorts. Canadian members will be offered different gift certificate and donation options than U.S. members, and customer communications will be targeted based on a customer’s country of residence. On-site property benefits will be consistent throughout the U.S. and Canada and will include express reservations, access to special room rates, express check-in, free local calls and incoming faxes, as well as complimentary newspapers and extended checkout. The Choice Privileges Visa will still only be available to U.S. residents, and will earn bonus points at mid-scale locations in Canada.
