Elite Status is the pillar by which many frequent travelers are measured. Elite status means shorter lines, lounge access and preferential treatment. It also means access to special promotions and privileges, which are not always offered to the average traveler. Right now, United Mileage Plus elite members can take advantage of year-end “your choice” awards, including a chance to win a million miles. Mileage Plus members who register by Dec. 15 and earn enough elite qualifying miles or elite qualifying segments by Dec. 31 can choose their own reward.

Mileage Plus members who earn 125,000 elite qualifying miles or 125 elite qualifying segments by the end of the year can choose one of the following: 25 entries in the Million Mile Sweepstakes, triple flight miles during March 2006, or two confirmed regional upgrades.

Mileage Plus members who earn 75,000 elite qualifying miles or 75 elite qualifying segments by Dec. 31 will have will have their choice of one of the following options: 10 entries in the Million Mile Sweepstakes, triple flight miles during March 2006, or four 500-mile E-Upgrades.

Members who earn 40,000 elite qualifying miles or 40 elite qualifying segments by Dec. 31 can choose one of the following: 5 entries in the Million Mile Sweepstakes, triple flight miles during March 2006, or two 500-mile E-Upgrades. As an added bonus, members who earn 125,000 elite qualifying miles (125 elite qualifying segments) or 75,000 elite qualifying miles (75 elite qualifying segments) will also have the option of giving a friend the gift of Premier status.
