Summer’s nearing its end in the continental U.S., but if you’re a Starwood Preferred Guest member, you can extend the season’s warm embrace.

Preferred Guest members who transfer 20,000 Starpoints to HawaiianMiles will receive the standard transfer bonus of 5,000 points, for a total of 25,000 miles. The not-so-standard part is that, if the transfer is made by Oct. 18, members can redeem those 25,000 HawaiianMiles for one roundtrip coach-class award ticket good for travel between Hawaii and the mainland U.S. That’s a reduction of 10,000 miles off the usual redemption cost.

Preferred Guest members can transfer up to 100,000 points to HawaiianMiles — enough to book four tickets. The offer is only good for travel through Dec. 16.

Starwood is also offering its members 35-percent off Hawaiian room rates and dining, as well as Avis car rental rates. Plus, members will receive their sixth night free when staying at The Westin Maui Resort and Spa or the Westin Ka’anapali Ocean Resort Villas. Several other Hawaiian Starwood properties are offering a fifth night free deal.

Award travel reservations must be made 14 days in advance, and discounted award travel is only available if reservations are booked online through “My HawaiianMiles” Web pages.
