Diners Club Club Rewards – July, 26 2004

Someone at Diners Club has been keeping busy.

Club Rewards recently announced it is extending the bonus promotion on transfers to British Airways Executive Club. The promotion will continue to award members with 50-percent more Executive Club miles when converting Club Rewards points, through Sept. 30. This is certainly not the richest transfer offer ever, but it’s nothing to shake a stick at, either.

But that’s just the beginning of the announcements from Diners Club.

Not only has the British Airways promotion been extended, Club Rewards has added three more transfer promotions.

Through Sept. 30, Club Rewards members who transfer points to America West will receive first-class travel for 20 percent fewer points. For first-class, long-haul award travel on America West, members will need to convert 80,000 points into FlightFund miles (typically, this same award would require a transfer of 100,000 points). A first-class, short-haul award ticket requires the conversion of 48,000 points (normally 60,000).

To transfer points to FlightFund, call Club Rewards at (800) 234-4034. After the points have been transferred, members can make travel arrangements by calling (800) 247-5691. Mention promotion code 0976 for a long-haul flight or 0977 for a short-haul flight. All travel must be completed by Dec. 31.

Through Nov. 30, Club Rewards members can transfer 56,000 points into Hawaiian Airlines HawaiianMiles and receive one coach-class, roundtrip award ticket between select locations in the continental U.S. and Hawaii. This represents a 20-percent savings off the 70,000 points it would normally require to obtain this award. Travel must be completed between Sept. 7 and Dec. 16.

As part of the deal, Club Rewards members are allowed to transfer up to 224,000 points — enough for four coach-class roundtrip award tickets — but the tickets can only be obtained between Hawaii and Seattle, Portland, Ore., Sacramento, Calif., San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas or Phoenix. To transfer your Club Rewards points, call (800) 234-4034 and ask for Club Rewards item #0965f.

Finally, beginning Oct. 1, Club Rewards members can take advantage of special conversion rates when transferring points to the Southwest Rapid Rewards program. Members who convert 24,000 points will receive a Southwest Rapid Rewards roundtrip award ticket for travel to any Southwest destination, good for travel through Nov. 30. That’s an 8,000-point reduction off the normal conversion requirement.

Members should expect point conversions to take around 10 business days, and a small service charge will apply. For more information about any of these transfer promotions, visit http://www.clubrewards.dinersclub.com or call (800) 234-4034.
