It’s been 50 years since JAL made its first leap over the Pacific, and to celebrate the anniversary of that milestone, JAL is offering five full months of bonus miles. Through May 31, Mileage Bank members residing in the U.S. or Canada will earn 50-percent more miles on every transpacific flight to Japan.

Say, for instance, you fly between San Francisco and Tokyo in Executive class. You will earn 6,414 base miles, then be able to tack on the 50-percent member bonus and walk away with 9,621 miles.

The best part about the 50-percent bonus is that nearly every class of service is eligible. However, Executive-class fares booked in I class and Special Economy -class fares booked in M class are not eligible to earn the bonus.
