United will stop flying to Hong Kong at the end of August. The route, which began on April 1, is considered unsustainable due to low-booking levels and continued regulatory restrictions in Hong Kong. United blamed regulations that it said prevent it from code-sharing with Star Alliance partners and from continuing its flights beyond Hong Kong to other Asian destinations.
