American AAdvantage has re-launched telephone check in for its elite-level members — and through June 30, members will earn 500 bonus miles the first time they take advantage of the service. This expedited service is only available to domestictravelers with an electronic ticket who do not need to check luggage. Telephone check in is available from three hours to 30 minutes prior to departure. The service is not available for members departing from Anchorage, Honolulu, Oakland, White Plains or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

American also offers Flight Status Notification via its Web site. Passengers can choose from a number of options, such as pager, mobile phone, or PDA for targeted flight departure and arrival information.
