More details have come forth regarding Hilton’s latest extended-stay hotel brand. Home2 Suites is being marketed to business travelers and is the only Hilton brand where HHonors members earn five base points per dollar for the room rate only (compared to the usual 10 points per dollar charged to the room) when choosing the HHonors Points and Variable Miles option for your hotel stays, and the miles earned are capped at 100. The HHonors Points and Fixed Miles option is not offered and if you choose HHonors Points and HHonors Points, you’ll earn five base points plus 2.5 bonus points (instead of 10 base points plus five bonus points).

Bottom line: It’s interesting to note that Hilton’s other extended-stay brand, Homewood Suites, offers the full double-dipping benefit as Hilton’s other brands. Members of Wyndham Rewards earn earn half the rate of other Wyndham brands at the extended-stay Hawthorn Suites so might this be the beginning of a trend for extended-stay brands?
