Delta SkyMiles and GOL SMILES announced earlier this year that members could earn miles when flying on either airline and now the frequent flyer partnership has expanded to include a reciprocal redemption agreement. With the new partnership, Delta SkyMiles members now have access to awards on over 900 GOL flights to 64 destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean, including the following destinations not served by Delta: Porto Alegre, Belo Horizonte, Salvador, Recife and Fortaleza.
To celebrate the new reciprocal frequent flyer agreement, Delta SkyMiles members can earn triple miles on GOL flights through Feb. 28, 2011. Visit http://www.delta.com/brazilbonus for details on the promotion and to register.
Bottom line: Delta Air Lines is ramping up its Latin American partnerships and SkyMiles members benefit with additional options when redeeming miles on flights to Latin America. Aerolineas Argentinas is expected to join the SkyTeam alliance in 2012 and Delta’s partners Avianca, AeroMexico and GOL all serve destinations in Central and South America. Anyone up for learning to tango in Buenos Aires?
