InterContinental Hotels Group Ambassador members who stay two consecutive nights or more at participating InterContinental Hotels and Resorts worldwide through Sept. 30, 2010 can earn 25,000 bonus points, up to a maximum of 75,000 points. You must book the special rate code IKA25 to get the bonus points, which means the cheapest rates won’t qualify for the promotion. We searched for a room at the InterContinental Boston using rate code IKA25 and found rates starting at $344 per night at the end of June. When we searched for the best available rate on the same dates, however, rates started at $217 per night–a difference of $127. Be sure to compare the IKA25 rate with the best available rate to make sure the 25,000 bonus points are worth the difference in the price of the room. Bottom line: If you aren’t already an Ambassador member and want to take advantage of this promotion, you can redeem 24,000 points or pay $150 for your first year’s membership (renewal is $100). Ambassador members receive Priority Club Gold status, a certificate for a free second night on a weekend stay, 5,000 Priority Club points, plus benefits during your stay at InterContinental hotels such as a guaranteed room upgrade, 4pm late checkout, complimentary Pay TV movie and fresh fruit and mineral water.
