Watchdog Update

In the InsideFlyer April 2009 issue, we wrote about U.K. television’s “Watchdog” host, Julia Bradbury, being investigated for allegedly taking #20,000 worth of free Virgin Atlantic travel. She has since resumed her post as co-host of BBC1’s “Watchdog” after saying she has been cleared of any wrongdoing by the police.

Bradbury was quoted in the Guardian, “The investigating officer wanted to talk to me as victim of fraudulent activity on my frequent flyer account and has confirmed that I am not a suspect. Virgin Atlantic has confirmed that the irregularities on my Flying Club account have been settled and have opened a new customer account for me.”

But the Times reports that although she had not paid Virgin Atlantic any money, she has surrendered over about 200,000 miles from her account–“about 80,000 miles that had been wrongly awarded, and some 120,000 miles to pay for flights that she had been wrongly gifted.”
