Scandic Goes Solo

Scandic Goes Solo

Scandic is launching a new loyalty program on Jan. 1, 2008 and Hilton HHonors members can continue to earn and redeem HHonors points for stays at Scandic hotels until the launch date. HHonors members can register to convert HHonors points to Scandic points between now and Dec. 14, 2007 online at http://insideflyerus.wpengine.com/link/?651 or at Scandic hotels. HHonors members who choose to convert their points into Scandic’s program will be offered a tier level that corresponds to their HHonors elite level. Points will convert on a one-to-one conversion rate based on the HHonors point balance in a member’s account on Jan. 1, 2008 and once converted, Scandic points cannot be changed back into HHonors points.

Scandic’s elite level is three tiered and tier level names correspond to hotel floors. Base level members enter the program as first floor members (HHonors Blue). After staying five qualifying nights within 12 months, members move to the second floor (HHonors Silver VIP). Members who complete 25 qualifying nights will be invited to the third floor (HHonors Gold VIP) and staying 45 qualifying nights will give you access to the top floor.

Members will earn 2,000 points per night for Scandic hotel stays and second floor members will earn 300 bonus points, third floor will receive 500 bonus points and top floor, 1,000 bonus points. Award stays at Scandic hotels range between 10,000 points for a Category 1 hotel and 30,000 points for a Category 4 hotel.

All points earned with the new Scandic program are valid for three years but all points converted from HHonors expire on Dec. 31, 2012. Members can also earn points with partners and a complete list will be available Jan. 1, 2008 when the program officially launches.
